    XMarks sub color?

For the tartanistas - I am having a bear of a time deciding what color is the background stripe - greenish, grayish, olive greenish, amberish, goldish -- Aarg seems to change pending the lighting. This is the Martin Mills XMark tartan, 12 oz PV from Rocky's place. Don't mind the dog hair it's a fixture in my life - LOL

    This is a flash picture:

And this is under a color correct OTT light:

[B]UPDATE[B] the dessert sun is full up:

This is how my eye perceives it also.
Normally I can tell, but against the blue i am confused (what's new) -

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Not sure what particular stripe you're referencing, but he colors used in the XMarks tartan are Dark Blue, Light Blue, White, Gray, and Yellow. Does that help?

I have not seen this tartan live so I must be careful, but on my screen there is no green. The stripes that I think you are talking about, look grey to me.

Thanks I wasn't even sure of the official colors. Am trying to match tops to this other than white. The blues are between all the blue tops I have. And all the shades except the white and goldish yellow seem to be a moving target.
I think the fabric patina is working this too

My advice is not to think about matching so much. Wear any shirt/tie combination with it that you would wear with a tweed jacket.

In other words, treat the kilt as a neutral, in the same way folks treat blue jeans and khakis as neutrals. No one worries about matching their shirt to their blue jeans/ khakis...

Darn! I opened this thread thinking that we had a submarine.

    Wouldn't that be cool?

Then again, knowing this crowd it would probabaly have a screen door.

    LOL Hiker - True
I almost totaly live in t-shirts - the partial collection, on t-shirt row - kilt row is behind me, too lazy to take those closet doors off now - LOL:

I really like colors. In t-shirts, white and heather grey look like underwear to me. I either try to match or complement the color of the kilt I am wearing ( I almost never wear anything else). Tartans kind of force the use of solid color shirts. Tartan with a polka dot top

BTW This XMarks really pops with the lavender t-shirt I had on yesterday.

I added a daylight picture to the original post with an army green t-shirt on - I am still getting a green "feeling" from that grey color in all three photos and directly - my glasses are clean - LOL.

That'd be as useless as wings on a freight train! Still can't fly, and won't fit through the tunnels any more!

They actualy have screens for the open hatches to keep the bugs out. In port, you want to air out these puppies as much as you can. You can ask any sub sailors spouse. Takes about 3 showers to get the oil and other smells down to a tolerable level.
