That's a great photo. BTW, I saw the picture before I read your description. The first thing I noticed was the black band on the shield on their caps, and my heart just sank. There are a few things that will bring a tear to my eye: a shield with a black band, the playing of Taps, and seeing an aircraft peel off from a "four-ship" so the remaining three create the missing man formation.
Thanks for sharing.

A very smart uniform and seems to compliment the dress uniform. A really well dressed band.

Great to see a uniformed service band utilizing the regular issue dress uniform the way they have. I played in a police pipe band once and tried to convince them to have some of the dress jackets cut like patrol doublets, but they opted for black argyle jackets with police uniform shirts. Kudos to these guys!

Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

Nice uniform, but I see that they're wearing dirk belts UNDER their jackets, riding very low and peeking out! Looks awful and would never be done in the British military. Why oh why do people insist on doing that? Get kilts that fit right, or if not, wear suspenders.
I'm also not a fan of plain hose with spats, in this case Lovat Blue "Day Dress" hose.
Sorry to rain on your parade!

You're right, Richard. They should be wearing belts over their jackets just like the guys in the color guard behind them.
