That "OTHER GUY IN A KILT"
So I am a College student and wear my kilts just about every day, I know there are other kilted gents at my school, one is a teacher, me a custodian, and this other guy in a kilt. Well I finally come across this other guy while I am wearing the Loud MacLeod I bought from Riverkilt, I compliment the gents utilikilt and the (explative deleted) gent gives me a nasty look and walks off, I was a bit offended but didnt think anything about it and went on with my day. A week later I see the same gent in the same kilt in the same area as I saw him before but I am in my solid blue kilt and I acknowledge his presence and his kilt and again he is astonishingly scrunch faced! Has anyone else had a similar experience while kilted?

You are going to have to pin him down and solve the mystery for us!

I don't think he realizes his misfortune of ignorance to the jilted culture, he looks like the "free spirited" tree hugging type, but that's just my view lol

sounds like someone is not happy that another fish is in the pond. small mind--which is not a reference to his position since there is nothing wrong with being a custodian or having any job. i waited tables and drove trucks between college and law school after my "plan" fell through.

Lol I am the custodian AND a student! Lol but the other guy doesn't apear to enjoy others in kilts. Too bad for him that I make kilts like addictingly, the last three months I have had a kilt at my sewing table, working on number 7, and it's a barter deal for a set of tires!

An odd reaction. I can only guess that he feels like you're stealing his thunder.

Actually, yes, I have had that same reaction. And it was from a kilted gent who routinely posts on this board. (I won't name names.) I was shocked and a bit insulted by the sneer he gave me. But when we bumped into each other some time later, he was his usual self. So I just chalked it up to him having a bad day.
I say you ignore the offending student, and keep on sewing.

I've had this experience with both Kilt guys and motorcyclists. It took me a while to learn that I don't have to live with somebody else's bad attitude. Some people are insecure and cop an attitude to keep others from finding out how out of control they are. It becomes a self defeating mechanism that prevents them from experiencing the community they really crave. Of course some of the time it's just because they are total misanthropes.
I'd like to think people are better off for knowing me so if they want to cop an attitude and avoid me it's their loss.
