Ron that looks fantastic. You must be well pleased. Have to say leather is not for me but I do admire the craftsmanship. I am sure you will wear it well. Have you reached number 80 yet?

Not yet. Cloth for the Dress Blue Marine tartan Steve designed is en route to my kiltmaker, and Rocky's Federal Memorial tartan special order is somewhere in process. When those two are sewn up and arrive then I'll have purchased 78 kilts. But only have 37 on hand. "Outgrew" and sold 39 kilts.

Wow! RKilt arrived today. Just a week through customs on a holiday. Lucky Me. Its beautiful! Have it hanging on a House of Gael hanger with weighted clips on the pleats to straighten the shipping wrinkles. Pics this weekend.

Clearly made in his new digs. Great series of photos. Congrats on your new kilt. Only have one of Robert's leather kilts and that will probably have to do for now.

Hi Riverkilt,
Just thought I'd let you know that I saw and touched the hide for your new kilt while visiting Robert in his atelier in July. Wow! What a lovely leather. Congratulations, Ron. Can't wait to see the photos of you sporting this thing of beauty and artisanry.

Its okay...you can touch it....
What amazes me is a few years back Robert dangled some bait in front of me by sending me an array of leather swatches in different colors. One was British Rebel Tan.
Today when I hold that old swatch against the new kilt you can't even see it. Whoever dyes the leather does a very consistant job.

Unless my eyes deceive me, that kilt is a reverse Kingussie. Do the two central pleats conceal an inverted box-pleat underneath?

Crack me up...sure thing Dutchy...as for the pleat stuff - I'm no techie...the pleats do reverse in the middle like Utilikilts do. No clue what the techie name for them is other than "pleats." Check the website, might give better pics.
Long day today, home late. But full bore plans to kilt up in the new leather and take a few pics tomorrow. Fair warning.
