Texas Renaissance Festival Events
Has anybody ever attended one of the Highland or Celtic events put on by the Texas Renaissance Festival in Todd Madison, TX? If so, are there a lot of activities? Large enough to cross a few states to visit?

Yes, I go occasionally. Check out Zardoz's photo threads for pics of what it's all about. It's one of the largest ones in the nation, if not the largest. Definitely worth coming in for if you like Ren faires. It's near Todd Mission.

The Texas Renaissance Festival ended in Nov. I think it was about every weekend in Oct. and Nov. Each week will have a different "theme." On the "Highland" weekend, I attended - my son and grandkids live nearby - the main reason I went. Still basically a ren faire with little "Highland" interest. The site is very large and attracts a huge crowd, but if you are looking for something Scottish, it would not be worth the trip from MO. You can find some photos on this site of people at the festival.

Thanks guys! I was pretty sure that this was the one the Zardoz hits. Only ask because I came across them on FB, and I also have old USMC friends who live in the area that I'd like to visit soon. Not looking for specifically Scottish, just a really good time for a day instead of an hour or two like my local festivals, and maybe be able to meet up with a few folks from here at the same time. Got a almost a year to plan
