    So, what kilt goes best with knee surgery?

    I have arthroscopic surgery scheduled on my knee next Tuesday to repair a torn miniscus and clean up some arthritis - just the accumulated damage of 26 years of working outside. Nothing major - all outpatient and I get a few new some new scars with which to impress the ladies.

    My surgeon's instructions are to wear something "loose and comfortable" that can fit over the bandages on my knee for going home after surgery.

    So, which kilt would work best - a UK Workman so I don't need a sporran, or a USAK casual? Any opinions?

    Personally I'd go with the USAK casual -- lighter I think.

    Hope all goes well and you heal quickly.

    You need both!

    The UK for more outdoorsy stuff, like hikes, and working around the garage/backyard;
    The USAK for the more "civilized" parts of your life! (all the rest)

    Best of luck with you surgery. I hope that your knee heals quickly.

    I would wear the USAK Casual.

    I go by the advice that seems to prevail here, "if you want to make a good first impression among serious people then a UK-type is not the way to go. If you are just kicking back and putting aroung getting dirty working then it IS the way to go."

    Rocky's work looks outstanding. Everything that I have seen from him is fine quality and seems to be worth every penny. Plus, NO ONE will mistake one of Rocky's jobs for anything less than what it is. A UK is easily mistaken for a skirt. Most people (seriously, MOST) have no clue about MUGS, much less brands.

    Blessings and good health.

    I would go with the Workman. Pockets are pretty handy.
    Good luck with your surgery.

    Experience says the ladies in the ward love a man in a kilt.

    I'd go with the USAK, for all the reasons other proponents have mentioned.

    Good luck with the surgery. I wore my Sport Kilt Comfy Kilt most of the time I was in physical rehab last year after breaking my back. Wore a handmade black kilt home from the hospital...
