I attempted to post this earlier, but I think that I had not met my 10 post rule yet. I did get a fantastic private message from David Thorpe and I am very appreciative of his comments.

I am wanting to piece together a more military look for some functions that I pipe. I am going to center this around my Locharran Strome MacTavish/Thompson Blue but have a few items that I am considering.

1. Does my MacTavish/Thompson Blue piper's plaid need to be Strome as well?
2. Argyle hose or red & white diced hose (will be wearing white spats)
3. Horse-hair piper sporran or military badger with tassels sporran
4. Instead of the usual gold trimmed doublet, I am considering a modern black piper doublet (similar to what is seen here: http://www.skyehighlandoutfitters.com/Modern_Doublet.html)

I will also be wearing a plain black glengarry with white cockade. I envision this as looking quite brilliant but wanted to know if the rabble had any other suggestions? Cheers
