I knew I could count on you. Shall we set up a meeting time?

I know Shaun Maxwell will be there too, along with his family. Not sure if Steve MacIntyre is coming. I'll be bringing a friend this year, an English ex-pat from Manchester.
It's probably best to do a meetup after things have settled down from the clan procession which usually happens at noon. They go from the front gate, through the grounds, and end up at the big arena at the back. Then they do a few minutes of talking, announce the clans, play "Scotland the Brave", then disperse. Maybe get together right after that? Before it gets too hot in the afternoon, preferably.
As for location, maybe one of the conveners could volunteer to do it in front of their tent.

Last I heard, Steve (Jack Daw) was planning to be there as well. I believe it's traditional to have the meetup at Steve's tent, but if not we can meet at the my uncle's MacDougall/MacDowell tent.
Looking forward to it!

This started out as one thread and has somehow ended up as 2. Is there some way to get them together?

I plan on being there, all right. It will also be the first time I will attend the Friday evening whoopty-do at the Alamo. Somehow, the MacLeod's are letting my girlfriend and me into their AGM banquet.

Where can one get specific information about the Friday evening event at the Alamo?

I emailed Jenni May of the SAHGA and asked for information. It usually starts around 6:30 in front of the Alamo chapel.

Per Wilma Heberling, the organizer of the event:
Yes! Tartan Day at the Alamo will be held Friday, April 5th. at 6:30p.m. Bouquets to present to commemorate Clans or loved ones are $18.00. Checks to be made out to San Antonio Highland Games Association (SAHGA) and mailed to me, Wilma Mackenzie-Heberling, 15712 Chippewa Blvd. Selma TX 78154.
The Highland Games will be bigger and better this year with the addition of a dance competition. There will also be a haggis eating contest, “bonnie knees” contest, Kirking of the Tartan (on Sunday), as well as all the other favorites of the Games. I look forward to seeing you there! Wilma
