Kilts at Major Sporting Events
I was watching the 6-nations game between England & Scotland on Saturday.....
...for those of you from other parts who don't know what the 6-nations is, its an annual international rugby union tournament between England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France and Italy...
...and have to say that the Scots put on a great show before the match. The pitch was literally covered with men wearing kilts - there were also a number of ladies wearing various tartans and they looked very fine too! Mind you, don't think Clive Woodward (the English coach) appreciated the pre-match razzamataz judging from his comments afterwards. I think his mind was on the game!
Fortunately, the scottish rugby team didn't play quite as well as their kilted predecessors (although, even though its galls me to say, I think we had a bit of luck with one or two of the tries!).
However, what pleased me most, was when the camera panned onto the English fans and there was one, with his England rugby top and a kilt (looked like Royal Stewart from the short glimpse I got).
Good on you - whoever you were!
Cheers
David.

Do you know how Ireland and Wales did?

Ireland beat Wales 36-15. To be honest, Ireland were all over Wales and should have won by more. It was a surprising result bearing in mind how well Wales played against Scotland (or did Scotland just play very badly?).
Ireland's next game is against England at Twickenham so it looks like their winning run will come to an end (hee hee!).
Cheers
David.

Scotland v Lithuania
I was in Edinburgh, kilted, at the time of the Scotland v Lithuania Euro 04 match. As I got off the train there were hoards of kilted Scotland fans on their way to Glasgow. A sea of Tartan Army kilts. I felt quite at home.
