Picking up my 4th Robertson Kilt on Friday....

My first was Robertson Hunting Modern, then Robertson Hunting Red, and now a Robertson Hunting Weathered Muted. Tomorrow I go to collect my 4th Robertson of Staun Ancient, this is a stunning kilt. Hand made by Nicola Laird who made my last two. Nicola is based at The High Street, Edinburgh.

    Hi Frank (R),
My first kilt is in Robertson Hunting, and I have the Red Robertson material for another kilt. I've known those two tartans all my life. I am intrigued about what Robertson Hunting Red might look like. Does it get woven by another name? Does it appear on the Scotweb tartan finder?
    Cheers, Ian

Here I am in my 4 kilt over the past few years they are
    1) Robertson Hunting Modern (green)
    2) Robertson Hunting Modern (red)
    3) Robertson Hunting Weathered (Brown)
    4) Robertson of Struan Ancient (green) just picked it up thus the pleats still have their running stitching in.

The last three made by Kilt maker Nicola Laird Edinburgh

    Your thoughts please.

    Regards

    Frank

    Kilts look great.

I am a Robertson clan and have the Red and the Hunting ancient as part of my collection.

I am, alas unfamiliar, with the work of Nicola. Does she have her own shop in the High St? I haven't been for a couple of years but don't recall seeing the name.

Quite a stable of Robertsons. Nice kilts all, and you look good in them. My favorites are the first two.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

    Thanks Frank.

I know Nicolsons as they made my 9 yard Muted Nicolson kilt, perhaps it was even Nicola that did it!

Thank you for sharing the pics. They're wonderful. This is my first time seeing kilts in the Robertson weathered and "of Straun". Lovely, indeed. I really like the weathered tartan. Is it a Strathmore Woolen tartan? I have the Hunting (muted by HoE) and the Red (by Dalgliesh). Love them both. Great photos!
