    Interesting Montrose Jacket

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/261210669077...84.m1438.l2649

There is a rather unique Montrose jacket for sale on ebay at the moment, it has trashes. Older style perhaps? Looks a bit too costumey/military.

I actually prefer the Montrose doublet with tashes, as I'm of the opinion that the fell of the kilt should be covered by one's jacket/doublet. This one would likely fit me around the chest but, judging from the photos, not around the middle.

    Still, I rather like it.

That's a nice find. Would one wear kilt belt with that as with standard Montrose I wonder?

H and M - I don't think so. Unless it was very narrow. The waist is between the bottom and the next up buttons.

    Regards

Very handsome doublet, indeed -- and also very warm, I suspect.
I imagine one would indeed wear a belt with it, similar to a standard Montrose or piper's doublet.
