Rocky rocks and so does Tom 'A_Hay!'

My second kilt from Rocky@USAKilts arrived, it's my first PV and I like it!It's pictured with a sporran I picked up on my visit to USA Kilts a few months ago and the strap I added to the sporran that was made by Tom (A_Hay!).

Tom has also made me a brown sporran and a strap to match which I did take a picture of but it turned out blurry; I will try again later.

The tartan is Murray of Atholl and uses the muted colours rather than the brighter, more modern ones. Will be wearing it to work on Friday and then a friend is having a Tiki Party so it will double as a 'grass skirt'

I wasn't sure what the USA Kilts Casual would look like given I had never owned a PV before but I am impressed with the quality of the workmanship and the way the pleats hang like a nice wool kilt. And it's WASHABLE

    As for Tom's work: FABULOUS!

    I can second that.
As the proud owner of a USA Kilts semi-trad and a sporran made by Tom Hay I can testify to the craftsmanship of both.

Moggi: Nice choices from Rocky and Tom. Your trip was evidently very successful. Love the colors in the kilt. Hope you have great Friday - Tiki Party and all.

I, too, own a USA Kilts Casual in the "police" tartan. I'm wearing it now as I write this note on a hot afternoon. It keeps me cooler and more comfortable than shorts.

I have a USA casual and a Semi-traditional and love them both. I just ordered my second casual and a PV mini for the wife in Douglas Ancient. I really love the Semi-Traditional as my easy to dress up kilt. I may end up ordering the Douglas in a Semi-Traditional also.

CMcG, it is a well made, simple sporran that sits well on both of my kilts. I swapped out the sporran chain it came with for a sporran belt from Tom and I much prefer how it looks now.

I cannot remember what it cost to be honest but I felt it to be good value at the time of purchase.

Now that I have an example of Tom's handiwork I don't think I would buy an off the rack sporran again unless I needed something at short notice. I just love the idea of owning something made specifically for me.
