And now the wait.
Just ordered 8 yards of handmade kilt in Buchanan modern from Alexis Malcolm...looks like I have about 3 months to make a decent sporran....BTW, I just spilled a whole bottle of leather dye in the living room....never look at your stuff outside of your work area. :/ lol
I've been waiting most of my adult life for a real kilt - so why does 3 months seem so loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnngggggggg?!?!?!?!?!?

Congrats on your new kilt order !
Spilling a whole bottle of leather dye in the living room is a bummer . However , on the bright side , you could now declare the living room as your work area . ![Very Happy](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

I like it. I like it a lot. More air conditioning and TV to distract me from waiting for my kilt to arrive.

Thank you very kindly...Speaking with Ms. Malcolm this morning she says things are moving along nicely for her and that I can reasonably expect my kilt to be done a few weeks earlier than we had talked about before.
I really do understand the waiting to order - like I said, I have been thinking about doing it for a long time but finally got to a position where I could pursue the dream tenaciously and I just hunkered down and got my stuff together and pulled the trigger.
It's a wonderful relief to go from "Some day..." to "I know within a couple days when it will arrive!" Here's to hoping your wait is a painless as possible! int:

That's great news Lee! Mine took seven months to arrive but it was worth the wait since it's a garment that will last my life time and generations after.
Now... What's the new color of your living room rug and will you have to get new drapes to match? ![Wink](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. lol, the carpet was boring beige before and now it's exciting beige with dark brown splotch. I think I should get a few more jugs and pattern the whole room!
I guess I can no longer complain about the cat throwing up hairballs all over the carpet now - if I start to yell at her for that she just looks at my big brown dye spot and smirks at me. Cheeky cat.

I'd like to ask that you post a review of the kilt, when it arrives. In the back of my mind I've been thinking about a Malcolm-made kilt in the U.S. Coast Guard tartan. She makes the ones for the Coast Guard's pipe band, and as a Coastie myself, I'd love to have a kilt just like the band's.

Oh absolutely - reviews, pictures, interviews with everyone who sees me the first time I wear it out...whether they want to talk to a giddy kilted fellow or not! :-) AM came highly recommended in the Clan Buchanan Facebook page and I searched her name here on xmarks and was suitably impressed so I am just about overtaken with excitement and my wife is already getting tired of hearing about it lol...

Congratulations on the kilt order Lee. As for the carpet, here's the solution:
