Shoes
Anyone think these shoes by Dockers are ok for kilt wear?

Absolutely. They would be perfect for daywear and casual outings.

I agree. They look good for anything short of really dressy occasions where the brown color and the thick rubbery soles would be out of place.
I have had mixed luck with shoes like these. Some are good, hardwearing shoes that get worn a hundred times a year or more. but others will turn out to fit badly or to come apart quickly. My worst experience has been with "blown rubber" shoes that suddenly disintegrate. I am told it comes from age or exposure to heat, but I have had two or three pairs just crumble. The parts that deteriorate are apparently the parts you attach a new sole to, so the upper is pretty much useless.
But back for a minute to the shoes you showed us- if you can get that same leather and that same sole in a plainer shoe- one with no toe cap, it might be even better. Please let us know if you get them.

That's a good looking shoe. Browsing this forum I've seen everything from running shoes, trail shoes, work boots, expensive dress shoes, to what can best be describes as Renn Faire boots. A common bit of advice from long-time kilted folks is to think of the kilt as everyday clothing like your jeans or khakis, and accessorize with that in mind.
For casual and day wear, I've chosen these Clarks:

Nice looking shoe. Should work well for day wear.
Like MacLowlife, I prefer a plain toe, however, that being said, I'd wear those shoes in a heartbeat.
On another note, I haven't seen you on the forum in a while. Good to see you back.

Not a problem at all. I'm not a brown shoe guy myself but I'd wear the same style in black.

Looks good to me. They look like they would even go well with the hose and flashes.
