My First Kilted Venture in Public
This weekend was my first "serious" kilted venture into the public. I have an old Sportkilt that I wear around the house, but Saturday was the first time I actually donned my AmeriKilt and boldly strode into public. I realize this is a more informal / non-traditional kilt, but the weekend gathering called for nothing more. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable I was (and how positive the comments were). This is a grainy pic, but it's the best one I could find. *Note: I do not prefer Miller Lite, but when beer is free...

Nicely done Sir! The first time I went out was a little daunting I admit but it sounds like you handled it very well!

Congrats on your outing, and glad you cleared up the beer thing.

The first time is always the toughest, but after realizing that every other guy in the room wishes he was as awesome as you, it's easy after that. Well done.

I'm confused. You say "free beer", but then speak of Miller Lite? (BIG GRIN)
Well done on the first outing. And welcome to the rabble!

Well done, as has already been said the first time is the hardest. Kilt on and be bold it only gets easier.

Beer ALWAYS tastes better when it's free (even Miller Lite), and comfort is one of the very best reasons to wear a kilt often, along with the compliments and approving looks/smiles (which totally offset the baffled stares, silly questions, daft remarks, etc). I regularly wear kilts to the office on Fridays and utility kilts on Saturdays and Sundays--nothing is more comfortable and practical. Well Done!

excellent color coordination from kilt to shirt, to beer cozy. Well done!

Believe me it gets easier as time goes on. And the compliments get even better.
