    The Call of Nature

Its a funny thing but I never gave it a second thought before my first time out in a kilt .
I went out to the park with the kids then for a walk round the lake with the kids yesterday. finishing of at ASDA for a bit of shopping . were I needed to go . LOL .

So you kind of have to hold back the front with both hands one at ether side then with your thumbs hold out the sporran so you don't pee on it, then with what ever you have left get a hold of your self.

Its a funny topic I know but what the hell its a funny job in kilt.

I spin my sporran onto my hip to get it out of the way first.

Now you see I have a problem, my kilt is 4" to big for me so its only held up by my belt and the sporran chain is behind my belt so its in soled and does not move at all if I undo my belt the kilt will fall like a brick LOL .

What a topic LOL but you just don't think about such things until it occurs.

Perhaps consider putting on your sporran after the belt to keep the chain from getting trapped.

I sometimes see what appears to be a sporran strap disappearing up under a belt and I've never quite understood it. Normally, the sporran strap should run just below the belt, through the loops on the back of the kilt if necessary.

Also, might I suggest that you get the buckles moved so that it is the buckles, not the belt, that hold the kilt up? 4" is quite a lot, but probably do-able, I'd have thought.

All of the above, plus, use a sporran strap rather than chains. The strap stays still and it is the sporran that moves.

It is the work of seconds; slide the sporran on to the left hip; fold outer apron to the left and tuck behind sporran strap; fold under apron to the right and hold it with your right elbow.

Gives you at least 1 1/2 hands free to attend to any and all needs.

Or...stand with you legs shoulder width apart and lift the upper and under aprons simultaneously with both hands (think kilt flash in brave heart). If outdoors or at a urinal, there should be no need for precision aiming.

I use hanger straps - no rotating.
I single hand grab the center of both aprons. Go straight lifting up the sporran with the side of the same hand. My other hand is free to do what ever. As long as you are keeping the aprons from sliding apart, they will form a little tent with the "door" wide open, but still shielded from the sides.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Good grief; do we really have to air all this stuff in public?
