    Nova Scotia advice

Just sending a shout out to anyone familiar with Nova Scotia. My dad is going to be there for a few days in August and I was wondering if anyone could suggest any must see or must do activities. He's into most things scottish particularly bag piping and also into mountaineering and hiking, despite being 82 he's as fit as a buck rat. He may well be kilted as he's off to Scotland afterwards and will be doing a circuit of Highland games, particularly Braemar where he's to present a quaich named in honour of his younger brother Donald to the winner of the piobaireachd medal.
Unfortunately it's a midweek visit so no weekend activities but any advice gratefully accepted.
    cheers

Can you be more specific about when he's going and what parts of the province he has time to see? Is he staying in Halifax or will he be going onto Cape Breton?

The only comment I could make about N.S. is that kilts would receive only pleased glances from any direction there.

He'll be landing in Halifax but I dare say he'll get a rental car and given the natural beauty of Cape Breton I imagine he'll pop up there.
