fleurdelis.com?
Hi all, quite new to this forum. I wondered if any one had any experience with this company http://www.fleurdelis.com/
From what i can tell they make logos in the form of the coat of arms. I would guess 'unofficially' based on the cost of having one made. I know in the UK there are only two places that grant arms officially and they do seem to be aimed rather at the 'well heeled' members of society. I'm pretty sure they cost something like £10,000

Thanks Chas, I've had a quick look at the link. It still seems to me that amateurheralds.com and fleurdelis.com are both 'unofficial' bodies engaged in CoA's or did I miss something. (My wife will confirm I frequently miss points)

Also what do they charge for a logo in the form of a CoA's? My guess is its not free.

The I A A H make no charge - ever.
I am the VP Education and I must tell you that we take heraldry seriously there. What is produced is proper heraldry and in no way a logo.

But was thinking if I had a CoA's i'd want it to be really quirky. I'd trade out the helmet for a Fez hat, maybe the two holders would be camels. As I play trombone i'd have some trombones on the shield, the shield would be one of those lexan proof police riot shields. It would definitely have a contemporary feel none of this King Arthur stuff I'm afraid......but hey that's just me :-)

That is all very interesting, but of course, it isn't heraldry. It is like saying that a person is going to take up cooking, but instead of food is going to use nuts and bolts, road sweepings and wallpaper.
Good luck with your endeavours.

Thanks Chas, I'm not sure really...I may have to do a brief read on the Wiki about it. I have a preconcieved idea in my head that Heraldry was/is some people saying they are empowered or something and the CoA's being their advertising logo but I'll probably get a better understanding when I do a Wiki later.
