Hi, Am making a kilt for my sweetie using your (great!) X-kilt pattern. Wondering what the purpose of the large pleat under the over-apron is for..? As there is not a corresponding pleat on the other side, and as it adds quite a bit of bulk to the waist area.. can it be omitted? It strikes me as unnecessary. If anyone would enlighten me I'd be most grateful. Thanks!!!
