    Decisions, decisions

For casual wear only, worn with hose scrunched down. Which ones should I get? Or should I get both?

For hiking the ones on the left. But if you are talking out on the town the ones on right. My opinion matters not. You are the one that will be wearing them. Whatever is most comfortable.

The tactical boots might be more comfortable for an all-day or a lot of walking, but those wing tips look pretty cool to me. I'd go with the wing tips if you ask me... just based on style alone. I just bought some Bates paratrooper boots so I'm not looking for any more right now, but can you share with us the brands of those two pars of boots?

Both are on ebay. The tactical boots (as far as I can tell) don't have a brand. They are just generic combat patrol boots for cadets, security or military. The other ones are also from ebay, and are described as Brogue Pattern Ghillie Boots/Piper Boots. no brand either.

I'll be using them mainly for just wearing out and about when I wear my kilt (I don't go hiking), but I'd like to have an option of something a littler smarter for the weekends when I head out to DJ or go to a bar with some friends (hence option 2).

I'll probably end up getting both (and I'm looking for a nice brown pair of boots too, because flexibility of options is always a good thing)

I like the Ghillie Boots. Here's a link to the boots on Celtic Croft.

I have a pair of boots like the ones in the link below that I wear with scrunched down socks if I'm going for an extra casual look.

They will take more breaking in, but they look better to me if you just want plain black boots. The brogue boots might be more for a more expensive club or event.

Edit: While this is the style of boots that I own and like (with my own insole added), I don't know that I'd endorse the Rothco brand. Mine are military surplus and have stood up to years of use, and occasionally abuse.

ID:	19692Also from Celtic Croft. A little more pricy, and maybe a bit daring style-wise, but great for Renn Faires. And they come in black and brown!
