"How to Make a Kilt"
I just watched a youtube documentary called "How to Make a Kilt". It was very interesting but focused mostly on the tartan design and weaving.
Here's another one, also titled How to Make a Kilt. I was doing a kiltmaking information table at a Celtic Festival and a local reporter caught me on on the spot with a video camera and asked me to show in 3 minutes or less how I make a kilt. Needless to say, I couldn't go into great detail in such a short time, but I did the best I could.

Wow, you were thinking fast on your feet to get all that info into 3 minutes! Good job!
(I forgot I had my earbuds plugged in until halfway through - I followed along perfectly wondering why there was no audio, until I spied the cord. The laugh was on me.)
Then I read the blurb below the video...
He doesn't know what he doesn't know - so, when did you start "knitting" kilts?!!!

I posted the links to that documentary. I was actually looking for one more in the style of your video. I've read a few articles on kiltmaking but never really understood why the kiltmakers took their scissors to the pleats and cut big chunks out of them! I just couldn't "see" where and why it was being done. Needless to say, after watching your interview it's all so obvious now Thanks!

Quick, but very informative. Do you plan to film any other videos (i.e. serials showing the different steps)?

I've been thinking about doing that. Maybe I'll try... a little at a time.
