Weapons Used On Outlander - Name Them? Like Them? Timely True?

    Hello all,

I know that there be a few of us who appreciate that artistry of the blade and enjoy watching Outlander.

First observation that i noticed is that Jamie kept switching from a Scottish broadsword to a basket hilt back sword. Both of his swords look like Cas Hanwei.

I also think that his dirk is also a Cas Hanwei dirk as opposed to the popular Cold Steel.

Lets talk blades and outlander here. Maybe we could get the Outlander armorer to show up here and chime in.

I was surprised at the tiny sgian dubh Ned gave Claire. Were they not a later innovation? I think, and that little knife would not penetrate kidneys with the ease depicted in the scene where Claire is assaulted by the deserters. At that time I would have thought they would give her a ballock knife or kidney dagger.

Some of this has been discussed here, albeit in the wrong forum:

In that pic at least, it seems Jamie is sporting a Hanwei dirk and an Armour Class "S" basket hilt.
