    suggestion for this forum

I think we need an FAQ section, or a few sticky posts.
I was looking for instructions for washing my bear kilt. I have read it a few times, bear mentioned the instructions from the weavers site. also was looking for drying instrictions.
anyway if we had an FAQ section this would make things EZer.
have things like how to wash and dry a bear kilt.
what bear kilt owners think or their bear kilts.
    price.
are they warm in winter or cool in summer.
    ETC
I use bear as an example. but I think there should be other topics of FAQ

I'm not sure Hank wants to use up space for info available from the kiltmakers' sites but it's his choice.
I chuck all my poly/viscose kilts in the washer and dryer. Unstitched hems might need a light ironing now and then. I usually don't bother. I figure it's like ironing a crease on your jeans.
Don't worry too much about poly/viscose kilts, Phil. They're tough.

Mine get the full hour in the dryer, along with a few other kilts. I do the least amount of work possible to maintain a kilt's appearance. They've always come out of the dryer looking great!
Washing and drying them with other fabrics can lead to pills from the other fabrics. Especially with the Canadian tartans, which pill more than the clan tartans.

Remember too, that other kiltmakers can use multiple materials... so a washing directions CAN be difficult.

You would probably have better luck in getting each site to throw a "Care and Maintenance" page on the menus.

As for Poly-Viscose kilts, the maintenance is about as "goof-proof" as there is.

As Jimmy pointed out once before it's a tough little critter to catch but it makes good kilting material!

(Sorry Jimmy, I still think of the Poly-Viscose postings you put in sometime back everytime I put on the USAKilt and laugh!!!!)
