Tennessee Volunteer Tartan
Greetings!
I recently began competing in the highland games and graduated from the University of Tennessee. I have a lovely Wallace tartan kilt (though I really need to get a Sport Kilt version), but I kind of like the idea of competing in bright colors, namely the Tennessee Volunteer tartan.
However, I don't know how to get any fabric. Does anyone know how to get their hands on enough of it to make a kilt?
Thanks,
Jeremy Wallace.

Best I can tell from a brief bit of Googling is that the Vols tartan is a custom weave. I'll guess you'd not want to put that much $ in a games/competition kilt.
Wallace is available in PV and is pretty bright, to me. But I like the muted/reproduction colors.

Have you checked with the alumni office? They may be able to help.

Scotweb, an advertiser on this forum, offers several Tennessee tartans. One version is the orange and white colors. The Scottish Register of Tartans has Tennessee Volunteer: https://www.tartanregister.gov.uk/ta....aspx?ref=4093 ![](https://www.tartanregister.gov.uk/imageCreation.aspx?ref=4093&width=750&height=750)
And there is a Tennessee State tartan: https://www.tartanregister.gov.uk/ta....aspx?ref=4998
