    Hirsute or Not Hirsute

Hello everybody, I have noticed more and more products coming on to the market for the care of beards and moustaches, I was wondering if the trend now is to sport facial hair?, so I'm throwing it out here to see what the consensus is with you guys, I for one go clean shaven in spring/summer and grow a full set for fall/autumn/winter (insulation). Thank you all in advance for all your replies. Kit

I'm bearded all year now - it's actually shady in the summer if it's already there; in my experience, just don't grow it in during hot months.

I have sported a tight trimmed fru-fru goatee for 20 some years, now that I'm back living in the Midwest I grow out a proper beard for the winter months to help keep my ugly mug warm.

Certainly in the UK facial fuzz is in fashion, several of the junior men at work have in the last year gone furry..
I had a mustache from the late 70s through to the early 90s.
These days the fur just annoys me, sadly the loss of the mustache is these days being followed by what's on top.

Bearded for decades here. Yes, beards and handlebar moustaches are very "hipster" at the moment. So products to maintain them are a growing business.

I first grew a beard as a 16 year old, enjoyed the freedom of not having to shave every morning and only needing to give it a trim once a week or so.

I have been bearded for most of the past 45 years. The exceptions being for 2 years in the '70's and 3 years in the '90's when I worked at a sour natural gas processing plant.
    Cheers....

That's exactly what's happening to me, it was only when I had my photo taken recently and had a look at it, I thought OMG!! I'm becoming a baldycoot!!!!! it seems that you only notice these things in photo's. Kit

I think part of the resurgence of beard and mustache care products is due to the popularity of beard and stache in the "hippster group". I see them all the time around the city I live in and they all look alike. It is most fun to see them in a pub sipping a beer and trying to keep their stache clean and beard primped. Ok that aside I have sported facial hair since I could grow a mustache in the 70's and the beard followed when it could fill out decently. Now days I keep it trimmed, it has its own natural shade of grey. Been grey since I was about 30 so it doesn't bother me.

Thank you, I've never heard of hipsters I'll have to Google it, I really like your bonnet, is it Donegal tweed? Kit
