    Ministry of Tartan

    Hi all

I am looking at a kilt on the website. I would be interested to know of dealings that other members have had with the Ministry for kilts and how they regard the product purchased and the transaction generally.

    Thanks to all

I've never bought from them, just looked, for years. I too would like to hear from past customers.

The new site is a huge improvement over the old one.

The old one didn't have photos, it would say "click for photo" but when you did it would say "no photo available".

Well, maybe one or two of the 40 kilts they had for sale would have a photo, but that was it.

Now everything has photos, it's great.

The trouble with the kilts is that at least 50% of the tartans are mis-identified. I have contacted the owner, offered some corrections and await their reply.

Yes "ancient Gordon" seems a rather flexible designator.

I purchased a "used" sheriffmuir jacket and five button waistcoat from them a few years ago, they were a pleasure to deal with and were very prompt with shipping. The jacket and waistcoat were as described and while they may have been listed as used both were virtually brand new with no perceptible wear. Both the price and shipping costs were quite reasonable and it was well packaged for shipping.

Having offered some corrections I was contacted by the owner, a nice chap, and will be working with him to ensure that they get their tartans right in the future.

Any idea what tartan kilt 531 is?
I'm just trying to be the person my dog thinks I am.
