    Kilt bunching at the front

    Hello all,

It's been such a long time since I wore a kilt my memory can't recall what's right and what's not.

I have just received my first "owned" kilt which I purchased from Scotweb. I have to say I'm over the moon with it and it looks fantastic.

However.....it seems to be slightly figure hugging on the apron and when I bend it tends to bunch towards the pelvic area. A quick tug and everything is back where it should be.

I'm wondering....is it just me and my oddly shaped body (I have been told I have a "full" backside), am possibly wearing it wrong or is this quite normal?

If anyone could advise I would be very greatful!

    Many Thanks in advance
    Lawrence

Can you tell us where you are wearing the waist of your new kilt? All traditional kilts are designed to be worn at the natural or anatomical waist. This is actually far higher than anything a guy today has ever worn anything.

The top strap in this photo is at the anatomical waist. Tn the back the top straps cinch into a hollow right under the ribs and above the "love handles". This is kidney level.
Depending on the kilt the top of the kilt may go up, over the short ribs in back.

In the front don't go by the naval. The naval is in different places on different guys. Use your bones, they don't move. The top of the kilt may be between 3 and 5 fingers below the bottom of your breastbone.

This should allow the front apron to fall straight down from the stomach.

If this is not working perhaps you could post a photo of you in your kilt.

    I wear the kilt because:
    Swish + Swagger = Swoon.

    Thanks for the advice Steve,

I shall certainly try it on following your advice once I'm finished with the joy of work today.....

I'll aim to get some pictures up if needs be.

    Many Thanks
