outrageous Ebay kilt description
This is so wrong I sent a message to the seller asking if he might have accidentally switched photos with another item:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Worn-once-ge.../262468219181?
Here's part of the description:
"This is a fantastic quality mens kilt, made to measure...
I weighed it for posting and it came in at just under 2kg which shows what top class quality the fabric is.
I know these kilts take more than 20 hours to hand sew and the work that goes into them shows."
The photos are of a typical Pakistani-made machine-sewn mass-produced acrylic? polyester? kilt with the ever-present distinctive misleading "authentic tartan designed in Scotland" (no mention of where made) label.
This part cracked me up
"The size is 4B although i'm not sure what that is..."
(the label says 48)

A poor description, to be sure, but I find I am not outraged.

It's a completely false description.
It would be like listing a valuable original of any sort, a work of art or high-end handbag or piece of jewellery, but actually selling a cheap copy.
It not only violates Ebay rules, but is fraud.

Richard , I agree whole heartedly .
Unfortunately , when dealing with Ebay there are 3 types of sellers .
1. Those who are honest and knowledgeable ... or at least somewhat knowledgeable .
2. Those who are ignorant and THINK they are being honest . ( ignorant meaning lack of information )
3. Those who are actually somewhat informed and being dishonest , thus trying to score more money thru a misleading description .
This listing seems to fall into the category of either item 2 or 3 above .
The old saying of " Caveat Emptor " holds true now more than ever before .... especially with Ebay .
Cheers , Mike

It would be one thing if the seller had put a vague or minimal description.
But he goes out of his way to describe it in detail: hand stitched, bespoke, 20 hours to make, highest quality fabric, etc none of which is true.
