Feather bonnet identification
Hi all:
I recently obtained a piper's feather bonnet from a fellow in Saskatchewan who said it came from an estate sale with some other uniform items from the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada. Can you help verify that and/or give me some ideas as to the date/era that it was manufactured? There is a small leather loop on the left side into which fits the (white) hackle, and there are two small vertical slits cut into the red/white dicing on the same side into which the attachment prongs of the hat badge are inserted. The sweat band is heavily worn as is the leather chin strap. Any information would be most helpful.
