Sock flashes to go with leather kilt

    Hello everyone!
So I ordered a black leather kilt, still waiting by the way, and I'm wondering about flashes. Since its not made with a tartan I am considering making my own out of either black fabric or possibly out of black leather. Since I'm going to be wearing black socks I was thinking of doubling up having a panel of black with a panel of red leather behind it for contrast. Just wondering if anyone has ever done that.

Most guys today use the flashes as "That little splash of color" in their outfit. There is no requirement that the flashes be the same or even similar to your kilt.
The same sort of holds true for the hose.

If we want our kilts, Tartan or solid colored, to be the centerpiece of our outfits it only makes sense not to push the kilt into the background by having the other items we wear be the same as the kilt.

Getting out of this thinking of matching the kilt and thinking of the outfit as a whole opens up all sorts of possibilities. Hose color coordinating with out shirts. Flashes coordinating with our tie or pocket square. etc.

It is actually sort of fun finding outfits that allow to kilt to shine.

I have made mine out of leather, and wear them with my dress leather kilt.

I have the red in the centre with a point between two black with a reverse "v" cut in them.
I don't wear flashes with my utility style leather kilts as I prefer to scrunch my socks and wear boots.
Having leather flashes compliments the leather kilt and gives it a bit of zing.
