Just back from New York City. Wore my kilt for two full days around NY, including a brusque walk in a snowy Central Park.

I think you mean brisk, unless you were dismissive to passers-by ![Shocked](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)
I need an electron microscope to see your photo. Can it me made any larger than thumbnail?

I was meaning "crisp" re the icy weather. I wasn't walking so briskly, nor indeed was I brusque with passers-by, several of whom commented very positively on seeing a man in a kilt in NYC (but maybe it's not that unusual).
Photo is largest I can make it from my wife's smartphone.

New York is probably one of the few cities in the world that wearing the kilt wouldn't draw much attention. They see so many different types of ethnic garb people usually just walk on by.
I've worn my kilt in NYC many times. The only result I can count on is being stopped by tourists who want to take a photo with me. Perhaps they think I'm one of those street performers, I don't know, although none have ever offered to pay me.
I'm sure you found it to be mostly uneventful. Hope you had a good time.

Wearing a kilt anywhere in the US, unless it is to a themed event, would be fairly unusual. I would not expect anything but nice comments.

The kilt was well-received by passers-by with many approving comments. I wore it around the City including in MoMA, in St Patricks Cathedral, at The View atop the Marriott Marquis Hotel, in Times Square, at Phantom of the Opera, at Trump Tower, in Central Park etc - it got a good airing!

Glad to hear your experience went well - I rather knew it would. We need more like you to support and encourage kilt wearing here.

I have never been to New York, but I have worn kilts in Boston and Los Angeles and my experiences of kilting in USA have always been positive. Only time my kilt seemed to cause some amusement was a group of young lads down at the marina in Santa Barbara.
