A project to reweave the original setting of MacKinnon

I'm working on a reconstruction of the MacKinnon sett from the Highland Soiety of London's collection of 1816. Here's an original sample by Wilsons of Bannockburns together with some yarn matches.

And the calculation to lay out the pattern with a herringbone selvedge.

I recently found this portrait of William Alexander MacKinnon, 33rd clan chief c1820-25. It was he that sealed the tartan in the Highland Society of London's Collection in 1816 and is wearing it here.

    The finished product

This has been posted elsewhere so I don't mind sharing it here. Here's the result of the MacKinnon reweave, A find kilt made by Paul Henry and pleated to alternating pivots stripes.
