Can anyone identify these two tartans?

This photo was posted on a Clan Scott Facebook site and the kilts were described as "Good examples of two of about a dozen Scott tartans". What do you think?

The one on the right is Stewart Black tartan .

At first glance , the one on the left looked like Thompson Camel tartan , however , it's not as it is missing a few stripes in the sett . Thus , I'm not sure about the left one .

Although it is similar to the Black Stewart, the tartan on the right is missing a number of stripes necessary to the Black Stewart sett. For example, the broad, yellow stripe in the tartan pictured, would be two narrow, yellow stripes in the Black Stewart. I don't know what either tartan is, but neither one looks like any Scott tartan (of which there are certainly nowhere near a dozen) I have seen.

The one on the left looks like it's tan in that photo, but when I search Google for other photos of the Property Brothers wearing kilts, his kilt appears more grey. See below.

If that's the case, I think the kilt he's wearing is actually the Dunfermline Athletic Football Club tartan. Seems like an odd/obscure choice, but that tartan appears to be a perfect match.

    *edited to add:

The second does seem to be Black Stewart, as far as I can tell. What you see as a solid yellow stripe, imrichmond, I think is two separate stripes (yellow and white). I also see the dark blue stripes in the black field in the photo below. There are several variants of Black Stewart (aka Stewart Black) tartan. According to the Scottish Register of Tartans, the #2 and #3 variants have green, while this one does not appear to have any green. It looks like the original Black Stewart, not the #2 or #3 variants.

I agree with Tobus' assessment. Clear some hire shop had a spare Dunfermline Athletic Football Club kilt on the rails. A long one at that!

I guess I need a better monitor. Stare as I might, I can't see all the lines in that Black Stewart kilt. On my monitor, a 23" Gateway, it just looks like a greatly simplified version of the tartan. Maybe I just need better computer glasses.

Just as an aside, who are the Property Brothers? Here in BC we have the Property Guys, a sell-it-yourself real estate franchise. Are these Brothers in the same kind of business?

Property Brothers is a very popular television show on the Home & Garden channel (HGTV). They are twins, if you couldn't tell. One of them is a real estate guy, the other does home improvement. They work together to help buyers choose a bargain house that needs repair, then they fix it up. This style of home improvement television is popular these days.

Thanks for the info, Tobus. I don't have cable TV (don't watch TV), so I'm not aware of what programs are popular these days.

So the question is, why do they have someone running the Clan Scott FB page who isn't familiar with the Scott tartans?

Or maybe this person really doesn't understand how tartans work, and thinks any tartan worn by a Scott somehow becomes a Scott tartan? Then based on the contents of my closet, congratulations to any MacNaughtons, MacCallums, and Malcolms: you're all Murrays now.

Perhaps it was a case of wishful thinking. I did query the remark but there's been no response.

Many thanks to all who have assisted in identifying the tartans.
