Kilt Bonanza, 2 PKs and 2 FKs arrived today for my birthday

Workmanship on both is excellent. Only difference I can see is that Jeff doesn't wash the kilts to get the chalk marks off before shipping. Not saying he should, and I'm fine with it.

Pittsburgh kilts (forest and desert Marpats) have that sort of inside apron deal across the back...a nice and unexpected touch...since its my 60th birthday will look at it as sort of a Depends deal

The hooks on the PK are new to me but I like that they're relocateable if I continue to lose weight. Measurements were accurate. I lost 30 pounds last year and hope to continue so got it snug and that's how Jeff made it...lots of room to lose weight. I like the PK sporran and bought an extra tan one to have a color contrast when I want. The "sporrans" are similar to AKs only with smaller hooks. Can't figure which one I like better, really doesn't matter.

The overall tailoring is excellent, the back pocket flap (no logo there yet) looks very smart. The inside side pockets were hard to find they're so well done. They're deep and loose so things shouldn't fall out when I sit.

I really like the PK inside apron pocket...only thing I can think of to keep there is some condoms so any ladies that happen to be kneeling in front of me will have easy access to them

The two Freedom Kilts are the Cadpat and the desert camo. The Cadpat fabric is very thick and heavy, gonna be great for winter. Weighed myself with and without the Cadpat kilt and it weighs 3.5 pounds. Very hefty, but nice. Workmanship is excellent, he even bartacks the pleats to reinforce them. Haven't seen that before.

The backpocket has an embroidered logo, very well done, like UK but different design, same quality of embroidery though. The FK has deep side pockets that were hard to find too. Very well done. I also had mine made with the outside side pockets. Craftsmenship is excellent.

Steve washes his kilts before shipping so no chalk marks to remove. I like the button closure method, same as a pair of (gasp) jeans...big button through a button hole.

Desert camo material is lighter, similar to the PKs and UK original.

Jones time on the PKs was 14 days, and one of those was sitting in the post office on "Columbus Day."

Jones time on the Freedom Kilts was 13 days, and that included whatever the two governments do at the border.

Got an email from Michael at Amerikilts, the three I ordered from him should be shipped this week, that's gonna be about a 30 day jones, but there were three kilts.

I'm about 5 weeks into my jones for the black leather UK...have medicated by buying two pair of black boots and a black jacket to go with it...hopefully it'll be drifting in soon.

The two UK workman's and the denim UK I just ordered are probably a month or two away...

My sister visits this weekend. Should be able to get out and get some photos of the Freedom kilts and the PKs to post.

What a nice way to spend a milestone birthday...opening boxes with kilts in them! Thank you Steve. Thank you Jeff. Great timing.
