154th Scottish Highland Gathering & Games, Pleasanton CA
As it, only a few weeks off, anyone planning to attend? The Ministry of Planning & Finance, the No Longer a Tax Deduction #1, & myself will be there on Saturday. Maybe, this year a photo moment with fellow forum members? In light of the events at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, the Caledonian Club (of SF) Chief has made a point to stress their security measures.
Cheers
Steve

Love this one! I'll be there both days at the Clan Mackintosh / Clan Chattan tent. And out and about. Had a nice chat with OC Richard last year.

I plan to be up there with the Long Beach Pipe Band all weekend. Driving up Friday, probably taking in the Professional Piobaireachd at the Host Hotel on Friday afternoon as usual.
We look like this! I'm the guy on the left. If you see me, please come up and say "hi!" and if you have whisky or beer it's a very good thing.

You look like you did, last year.

I put that holder out, ready to take.
Have people read the list of banned items from the Pleasanton Games site? (Alameda County Fairgrounds.)
Cans, glass bottles, and hard-shell coolers are banned. Only soft-sided coolers are allowed.
As far as I know this is a first. I know last year, as in all previous years, everybody brought in ordinary coolers.
Also, flasks are specifically banned.
However dirks and sginean are allowed.

For those that don't know......Given the, recent, events of the Gilroy Garlic Festival (an hours drive away), the Caledonian Club of San Francisco & Alameda County Fairgrounds want all to know they are doing their best to ensure a safe event. Please, read here:
