    Kilted at 120km/h

Once again this year I participated in the Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride, and once again I challenged my sponsors that if I surpassed my fundraising goal I would do the ride in a Kilt.
The ride itself was ok, the sun made a cameo and it was somewhat warm in areas. The ride TO the ride however was before sunrise, and on the freeway...let's just say it was freezing.
But we raised some funds, eyebrows, and awareness...and that's what it was all about.

A buddy of mine did the 2019 Calgary DGR kilted, but I don't think it was as cold as yours!

I was actually surprised to see one other gent in a Kilt on our ride too! It took a hot bath and an afternoon by the fireplace to get warmed back up again. It seems lately that once I get cold, I have a hard time getting warm again.

I confess to having regularly ridden kilted....in fairness, it was when living in Cyprus! Weather and temperature were not generally a concern, but other dangers such as sun-burn and (massive) insect stings were abundant!

I've hosted and rode kilted in our DGR for 5 years. This year, however, I couldn't get off work. Lo and behold, 3 newcomers rode in kilts.

It's not all that cold here, but those dawn rides to the meeting location are indeed brisk.

You can warm up your legs in a hurry if you drag your knees around corners. ;)
