Scottish Gathering and Highland Games Salado
Just in case someone did not hear the Salado events is ON! It will be held at the Johnies BBQ location, just off I35, on the 12-15th of November. New location and the loss of several old hands will probably result in some glitches but should be a great event. The Salado Museum web site has a lot of detail. Hope to see you there.

I'll be there.
I can't imagine how they're going to set things up at Johnny's to accommodate the clans, vendors and athletics, unless they use their parking lot... Not sure I'd want to convene in a dusty parking lot.
I'm hoping that it'll all work well. On a positive note, I won't have far to travel for dinner!
Cheers,

We'll be there. Being just off the freeway may be good. When it used to be held at the Robertson's ranch we used to get folk who saw the tents/flags and turned around and came back to see us
Also ought to be able to get a good brisket sandwich at lunch from Johnny's.

Last time I dined at Johnny's, I ended up at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. NOT because of the food at Johnny's, but because I passed out during dinner due to dehydration. Note to self for upcoming games: Scotch AND WATER!
I'm hopeful that they'll let me back in!

Johnie's Map
Just as a heads up, the red block to the south (right side) of the map is not part of the game site, and the north red block is smaller than the actual site in the other three directions. You are correct that there is a fair amount of dusty ground and if it rains it could be messy. Problem is the previous site was being sliced apart for various city purposes and was becoming severely congested to the point of unusability. Johnie's on the other hand is sponsoring the site (free) and providing his concert stage area/setup as well. At last count there were around 40 clans, and over a dozen vendors signed up. SAMS will be there Wednesday the 9th for site markup and we are hoping the majority of the clan tents will be on grass. I reckon we will see. Hope to see you there! Jack

Jack;
If y'all are setting up, please make sure Keith, McLauran, Maxwell and Lamant are on the grass.
And SAM of course
