I Love Fresh Bananas
But I'm single and only eat one a day. Don't wanna run to the store every day for a fresh banana so have devised a system that works well.
First, buy a bunch of three bananas the last thing before checking out of the supermarket. More than three won't keep well.
I ask for a seperate bag for the bananas so they don't get bruised up.
First thing when I get home I put the bunch in water so the stalk can soak up the water. Usually just put the turned down stalk in a cup of water. I leave it there for a few hours.
After the bananas are rehydrated I stand the bunch of bananas so the stalk is up like they normally grow, then cover them with a towel to keep them in the dark.
In the morning after I pull off a banana to eat I put the stalk back in a cup of water to soak up more moisture for a while, then stand the remaining bananas and cover them again.
Works great. Fresh bananas for three days at a time.
