She looked me over...
I wore the brand-new (I hadn't even finished the inside closure or the belt loops, yet) new Lindsay six-yard (see the pics forum) to the Redwood Symphony concert last sunday. This is the symphony I used to play in, and that the luminous Joan still plays in. I had on Strings Outrageous Kilt Hose and the $25 herringbone tweed vest from Target. Miraculously, that vest fits *perfectly*. Under that was a nice white shirt and a regimental stripe dark green/red tie. I finished it off with my formal white rabbit fur/black leather sporran.
So the concert is over, and I'm standing outside the orchestra room as people come and go, waiting for things to thin out before I go in and talk to Joan and the other clarinet players. a *Very*...(emphasis Very..) attractive, dark haired female violinist that I don't know walks out with Carol from the second violin section. I've known Carol for years, but I don't know this other early-30's-something looker of a violinist. Mind you, she's dressed in a long black concert dress and every woman looks good in those.
She comes out the door, pauses, and then stops in her tracks, violin case over her shoulder. She looks me over, taking a full two seconds (which is a long time) to scrutinize head-to-toe.
..........and then she gives me this knee-weakening, dazzling smile and says "Hi".
That's' it...just "Hi". So I say "Hi" right back, laughing and looking her full in the face..
Carol says...."sorry, he's married" and cracks up.
***********************
It's been a while since I got overt female attention because of a kilt, so this was kind of fun.
Ah the power of a kilt on an old, bald guy.
