Looked what just arrived in my mailbox!
Boy has this week been like Christmas. On Monday a book I ordered on Scottish History arrived from Amazon after a 5 week wait. Yesterday it was the xmarks tartan (discussed here)

Today a box arrived from fed-ex containing......

Some long awaited Lewis hose, the extra long garter ties that Matt has been discussing and a surprise pair of the new Locharron extra wide hose (thank you Matt, that was completely unnecessary! But thank you)
So now as I prepare to head out of country on the 8th of August, my kit is finally coming together. I will, of course, post pictures of me wearing these items in the next day or so.... Man, what a week!
I do want to take the time to thank Matt for the incredible customer service he provided during the long wait for these hose. He has been incredibly patient with me and my incessant emails and phone calls. Matt, you truly are a gentleman and there will be more orders your way when I get back to the states after the first of the year... There is another box-pleat calling to me ![Very Happy](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

That is why I ordered the Lewis Hose, was to get over the same sized calve. These are the 2cd and 3rd pair I have ordered and they work extremely well. Give Matt at the Scottish Tartans Museum a buzz. He will set you right up.

Mike,
I'm very glad that your items got there in good shape. Wear them well. Again, very sorry about the long wait on those Lewis hose. The extra pair of hose was the least I could do to thank youf or being so patient while we tracked them down.
Let me know when you settle on a tartan for that next kilt!
Aye,
Matt

Just from what I've read one hear you've certainly sold me, again! ( I purchased some a pair of highland bonnets a few days ago) You can rest assured I will be coming to you for some garters ties soon enough.

I do too. I'm a 300 pound martial artist/hiker, so my legs are unnaturally huge. I was advised by the very helpful people at Thistle & Shamrock here in Denver to buy hose one size larger than my show size, and to put just the feet into really hot (NOT boiling!) water and let them hang dry. Worked like a charm. My socks fit just right in the feet, and around my freakishly muscular calves.
