Since pretty much all the other tartan onthe website seems to be identical to the Fraser & Kirkbright materials I feel fairly confident that this is one of their outlet sites, and that the tartans for sale are woven by F&K. Steve and Rocky can probably comment on the quality of F&K PV tartan, as I believe one or both of them use the stuff fairly regularly, and I know that one of the later batches of Xmarks tartan was done in PV from F&K. So there ought to be a number of forum members with kilts made of similar stuff in that material. To the best of my recollection I have not heard bad things about F&K PV material so far.

I stand corrected, the last run of xmarks tartan was indeed PV but from Marton Mill as MacHummel states above.

So, anybody have any personal experience with th4e PV sold by F&K or by this ebay vendor? IF so post a testimonial for the resto fo us poor souls.

Thanks for correcting my error, Mac.

Err, um, I did, about 18 hours ago. See above...

As far as I'm aware, F&K has never done PV. Despite my successful transaction, the similarity of description with F&K wool tartan made me wonder; since she lists fabric weights that F&K do not. Unless she has bought some bolts that I did not know about (entirely possible).

    Thumbs down

I just finished searching through my old eBay purchases, and found who I purchased my Maple Leaf PV from - it was this woman.

The material that she is selling is not 12 oz./yard - it's a very loose 10 oz. (I weighed it on the scales at work). It's too light for kilt-making. It's too light for skirt-making - unless you want the woman wearing it to do a Marilyn Monroe impression at the slightest breeze. Sorry, was distracted there for a moment ...

Unless otherwise stated, all purchases are delivered to Canada Post within 24 hours following receipt of payment via PayPal, which is required within 24 hours of end of auction or purchase.
When I hadn't received my order within a week and a half of my payment with Paypal, I contacted her.
She assured me that my fabric had been shipped, and any delays were due to Canada Post, Canada Customs, and U.S. Customs.
When my fabric finally arrived, it was postmarked the day after she e-mailed me.
It left me wondering when she would have shipped my order if I hadn't reminded her.

That's my experience with this seller. She may be better by now, but I wouldn't buy from her again.

Thanks, Pete and Wompet! I'll wait for better opportunities.

I will let you all know how heavy this is and how long it took to get here.
I plan on making myself an Irish Dress with it, and since i live in that Garb for two weeks camping every summer at Pennsic, lightness of fabric and easy washing is a plus.
