I have lost over 25 lb, 4 inches off the waist, my BP is in the ideal range - it was slightly high. My knees don't ache as much as they did.

    Not bad in two months.

I hope you do well in your Dash on Sunday - it will be into the evening here in the UK, so will be thinking of you as I work on the new clothes I now need.

    Go Hugh Go!

Tear it up Hugh! I'll be thinking of ya!
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

I'm late coming in here, but this thread is part of what kicked me in the ***, the other part was having my 20 year High School Reunion and realizing I am exactly 99lbs heavier than I was when I graduated. I've done the gym thing before with no results and I tried p90x but couldn't stick with it. I joined a local Crossfit gym and have already dropped from 246lbs down to 241lbs. I'm sore ever damn day but I am already feeling better.

Ok, everybody, the results are in

Hugh: Group men age 30-34 for Sunday the 14th
    61st out of 815

Hugh: Overall for all ages and genders for Sunday the 14th
    480th out of 8658

Wish I could have done better but I pushed as hard as I could and left it all on the course. No regrets for holding back on my part. I gave it my all.

The course was alot harder this year compared to last year and the new obstacles were intense. Guess it's time to start training on the mountains for next year. That hill will NOT get the best of me next year!

Well done Hugh, keep inspiring me ( that goes for everyone on here ).

My turn this weekend, I have a 12 hr night run/race, starts at 7pm on Saturday and finishes 7am Sunday, the 'Hell on the Humber' ( you can Google it, not sure if there's a race tracker ), back and forth across the Humber Bridge, ( 4 mile loop ) there's no flat section, your either going up the bridge or down it, hoping to cover 60+ miles.

Found a new fitness helper. My new father-in-law is trying to get the family members that are able to join him on some bike rides. The goal is that next year he wants to get several of the family members on the week long GOBA bike ride here in Ohio. It involves a week of rides form 30-50 miles a day touring various towns and regions of the state. He also is looking for a new riding companion on his annual ride of approximately 150 miles spread over two days; though I'm not sure I'll be joining him for that one.

Nice going, Hugh! I know you feel like you could have done slightly better, but that's nothing but a wonderful motivator.

If you want to work on the mountains, come visit us for a couple weeks before next year's event. I'll get you training at 7000 ft and make it so you can devour those climbs!

Got my Dash next month and a Rugged Maniac in Oct. Would compare numbers with you, but I'm in a different age group. I'm old!

If they were the pics on my profile they are from the PA Warrior Dash. And we had a great time! I did two this year! I didn't have my camera with me at the NY one.

All the best with your races. Every Warrior Dash is different so the numbers wouldn't be good comparisons anyway. Rock it!

Ok, so I don't feel bad about my performance at ALL now! I just compared the numbers and I did the NY one in less time than the PA one! They are both the same length but the NY one has that massive mountain and harder obstacles. Ok, so Insanity and mountain running are AWESOME!

    PA - 36:34.85

    NY - 36:19.45

    Sweet!
