    Smile Fitness Challenge!

Ok, guys here's the thing. I am wondering if anyone would like to take part in a motivational thread for kilted fitness. I may try to conquer the mountain at the New York Warrior Dash in August and am about to start Beach Body's "Insanity" program to prepare. Now you wouldn't have to go that nuts, just have a good fitness goal in mind. I reached my other goal and beat my friend Nathan at the PA Warrior Dash and now I need a new challenge. I think fellow kilties encouraging each other into better health would be great. Let me know if this sounds like a good idea or not and if you'd want to post to this thread with updates as you meet your goals.

    Hugh

A little update. What we will do is post our fitness goals on this thread and then update to this thread in particular as we go. Anything you feel like sharing or even just encouragement for others is greatly appreciatted. I hope we get some more folks but if not then MacMillan's son and I will be rockin' the fitness.

    Count me in !

I can afford to drop 10-15 lbs. and 10-15 points on my blood pressure, and can use the extra motivation. It's either that, or the Doc says B/P meds, and I'm not willing to endure the side effects of the meds just because I'm lazy!

I enjoy trail running, so should be able to post some decent photos too from time to time.

I think this is a great idea, thanks for the spark Biblemonkey!

    LET'S DO THIS THING!

    Make it 3!

I'll be starting off light over the next 3 weeks though! in the process of a move. But once I make it to Moncton I'll be starting up the P90X again!

Awesome! P-90X is great! I used it to get ready for PA Warrior Dash. I need something more cardio intensive (yeah, like P90 is easy on the cardio (;0p ) to train for NY. Make sure to do your best and forget the rest! Bruised egos don't get results, training to get better then the old you does.

In a few days I'll post my stats so we can before and after info. You guys can too, if you want.

After 9 years or so spending 4 hours a day in the gym, I've spent the last 2 barely stepping foot into one.

I have been biking lately, mostly because major plantar fasciitis is a beast when you walk and lift regularly.

My goal is to get back into the gym for at least 2 days a week and to bike 20 miles a week (5-7 mile intervals).

P90X is the name of a Workout Program. You can tailor it to the way you want. Cardio, Strength etc. It uses Cross Fit and Circuit Training styles.

Sounds good! You have a goal to just start and continue. That's a good goal to have after so long out of the game. Just stick with it and don't skip workouts and you'll get there.

    Count me in too.
Hit 195 lbs and dropped to 163.
I've gone back up to 175 so I need to get the extra dozen back off
Other reasons also but I can share those in the dedicated thread.
Sharing goals and progress is a great way to stay motivated.
