What gets your knickers in a bunch?

The older I get, the less patience I have for all crap. Top of my list is general stupidity. After that, in no particular order:

a. My wife's cat who likes to wake me up at 4 A.M.
b. People with no sense of their surroundings (block a shopping aisle with their cart, stand in doorways, walk into you while they are looking another way, etc.)
c. Movie talkers/loud people in public.
d. Bad drivers.
e. Tim Burton movies.
f. My redneck neighbors. Oh the stories I could tell.
g. Loud car stereos.
h. Bad tippers. I'm the cheapest person I know, but I tip very well. Even lackluster service will get 10 to 15%. You are NOT entitled to have your boots licked by wait staff simply because you have arrived.
i. Rudeness. There is simply no excuse.. ever.
j. People who do not control their children in public. I raised two kids. It isn't that difficult.
k. People on the internet who apparently get immense feelings of superiority by correcting other people's misspellings or grammar.

I could go on and on. In a few years, I'll be on the rocker on the front porch screaming at kids on my lawn.... instead of standing on it and yelling at them like I do now...

I loved this list. I share 100% of these as well. ESPECIALLY b and j!!!

Speaking of redneck neighbors....I have the Clampetts themselves living across the street from me. First of all, last halloween they put a lifesize cross out in their front yard, covered it in blood, and hung a noose from it and left it there well past Oct 31 (I dont care who you are or what you believe, you don't put a bloody cross out in your yard ever. Have a little respect). They also lit the neighbors yard on fire in order to kill a bee because the bee stung the kid that live in the redneck house...oh, they spray painted their pick up truck in camo and they made a wind chime out of beer cans and hung it outside on their porch...

tell me about your redneck neighbors! I love those stories. They make me laugh.

A bit of both really I guess, but mainly the secret hoarders. Knowledge is a treasure that is meant to be kept in the light and shared.

If someone wnats to learn something I can teach, I'll teach what I can, guess that's why I'm a cub leader and bushcraft instructor.

I dont think Ive ever met anyone like that. Ive only met people who love to prove that they know more than you at any chace they have.

I have little tolerance for those who don't say "excuse me" or sorry when they bump into another person. Sadly, these sort of people are everywhere where I live.

I agree with that too. Or people who dont hold the door open for yuo when you are walking into a building right behind them.

If you don't know what you want, you are not allowed to use the drive-thru. If you have more than two special instructions for your order, you are not allowed to use the drive-thru. If you are ordering for more than three other people and need these orders to all be rung up separately, you are not allowed to use the drive-thru.

I really hate drive throughs... Youre trying to decipher the fast food board... Theres this woman behind you... She's glaring... The guy behind the microphone decides he cant understand accents... I knew there was a reason I only used the drive through at wallgreens (not for fast food i should hasten to add)...

I do follow the rules of the road both in the UK (keep left) and North America (keep right). So as I said tailgating me is never justified besides it being illegal and dangerous.

You are right about keeping to the curb, the advice from the Massachusetts State Police is to slow down, so that the tailgater is either forced to change lane, overtake you (where it is safe to do so), or slow down.

In California they encourage us to slow down in order to increase the distance between us and the car in front of us. The goal is to not create a chain reaction in case the goober behind you hits you.

Admittedly my peeve is a small one, but one of the things that twists me off is the expression "to die for", as in "The chicken salad at Rocco's Deli is TO DIE FOR!" Really? Get a clue. I know some things worth dying for, have fought for them, shed blood for them, and lost friends fighting for them. But a friggin sandwich ain't one of 'em.

I heard a similar story today. An English friend had been on a cruise ship. He had to wait quite a while for the elevator and by the time the doors opened a group of Americans who had arrived behind him pushed in to the elevator along with him. One of them then asked him to leave the elevator so that the Americans could all get into it together. He refused, pointing out that he had been waiting for the elevator long before they arrived. "But we are from Texas, that's the way we do things" was the response. He stayed put in the elevator and said that on a cruise ship the etiquette was first come first served and so one of the Texans had to wait for the next elevator. Left a very bad impression of Texan etiquette on him. Its always sad when anyone, whether Texan, Scottish or English, creates a bad impression of their homeland on others by their lack of good manners. I think if anyone stood on my foot I'd be looking for an apology.

As a real Texan, I'll assure you that's not the way we do things in Texas. But wherever those folks were from, their momma didn't raise them right!

Thats exactly what I was thinking. No well brought up Southern boy would act like that.

I hate when people say "I could care less"....it's I COULDNT care less!! If someone can care less, it means they care a little! Seriously I dont know why people dont think about that when they say it.

Or "preggo/preggers"....I will roundhouse kick anyone who says "Oh are you preggo!?" when I am pregnant. Preggo is a lame word.

"grand baby" also annoys me. It's a Southern thing. I guess I only hate it because the only people who really use that up here in Wisconsin are a tad "ghettofabulous" for my tastes.
