    Gotta agree. The term is used periodically where I work by some of our, um, clients, almost exclusively as a reference to their offspring's offspring, especially if said person is of insufficient age to have started school.

    Offspring is sooo ..... impersonal, lol. I can only imagine how carefully chosen that word likely was.

    As in, y'all are accusing us of words that ain't necessarily in our vocabulary!

    I don't mind the term though, although I agree about its general use. Our clients use it as well and with a similar meaning.
