Biblemonkey you’re looking good! And you are not alone.
Since joining the forum I have lost 25 pounds and gone from a 44 inch waist to a 37 inch waist. My hip measurement has stayed the same at about 44 inches. I basically started out as a cylinder with kilt measurements of 44/44 and I am now 37/44. The material for my first kilt is on order and I have three weeks to lose one more inch around the waist.
Then I have to give my kilt maker my final measurements.

Since this thread was started I'm now down 25lbs, have gone from a 38" to 33" waist, and gone from a 40" to a 44" chest. So far so good, I hope to lose 1 more inch around the middle and I'll be happy.

That is awesome, guys! 25 lbs and 5-7 inches off the waist? Very nice! Good to know folks on this thread are working so hard. Makes me want to keep working hard out of respect for everyone else's efforts.

I know I'm coming in on this thread pretty late in the game, but I love the idea and wanted "in".
Just to re-cap: I started working on my weight issue about 2 years ago. At the time, I was wearing 40" waistline jeans, and my belly was much larger than that. So much so that I wasn't able to wear a kilt. My inverted pear-shape meant that a kilt would just fall about my ankles, which wasn't a good thing! Over the past 2 years I have reduced my waistline to 34" and I'm well on my way to a 32" pair of jeans. However, as my belly is now much smaller (39" - 40" depending on how/when you measure it.) I am planning to buy my first kilt in time for my 45th birthday at the end of this month. As a form of incentive, I will be buying a 38" Black Stewart from Stillwater Kilts - so obviously I need to work hard to reduce my belly down to the point where it's going to fit comfortably.

Cool! And good goals. I'll tell you, though, there is nothing so satisfying in your fitness as when you UN-grow a kilt and can sell it for a smaller one. I have a UT-kilt that I bought a month ago and it's now an inch or so too big. Great feeling.
Welcome to the thread!
