Not much really, most of the sounds are the same. There are no sounds that exist in one and not the other. As long as you remember the differences in spelling you're alright.
Here are a couple of examples:
éa (IRISH) is eu (SCOTTISH)
cht (IRISH) is chd (SCOTTISH)
