I am thinking the next will take longer, since I have to start school very soon, and I doubt I'll get much done on the second until I'm in the car once again Tuesday. I did get a start on the toe before It got dark. Don't know when I'll get pictures though, it's tricky and I'm surrounded by High school children.

You go, girl. Looks beautiful. Ken is a sock junkie (junior grade).

there have been a few already. It may be that historically, kilt wearers were mostly knitters. ISTR that manly Scotsmen, of necessity, were pretty good with a needle.
Who knows, maybe real, real, real men wear pink kilts and knit their own hose!
I started a simple scarf project once upon a time, got as far as learning to cast on and knit a garter stitch. Diane, pleater, string, et al. have inspired me to think about brushing up my chops, and perhaps even learning to purl. timber has inspired me anew with those gorgeous hose. My wife just gave me a set of double-pointed needles, so we shall see what we shall see.

*bah* You warned me that it might take months, and here we are two (three?) weeks into it and one sock is done already! I am thrilled and excited!
Then again, I'm easily excited, hmmmmm....

I have also been on my Christmas break, no class or work to interfere. 2 weeks from now I'll be heading back to school and at the very least I will have class to interfere, hopefully a job too, but that is yet to be seen as I haven't worked except for commissions since May (not by my choice.) I am thinking progress will slow down.

Stop it you two! No one needs to see this Public Display of Knitting! Just joking, good luck with the other hose.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

What you can't see in this is that I think both my legs would fit in this sock... but I didn't try. I do have some concerns about the top fitting, as knitting stretches more to side to side than from top to bottom, but this may be my fit paranoia kicking in.
What I need to do is find someone with similar measurement and try it on them, but right now it's my dad's poor swollen legs from his medicine, or my chicken legs.
