between 4 and 5 works good for me...I'm going to be a slave to the subway system though so that hour span would work great...I'm not crazy enough to drive into the city if I don't have to.

For myself I have to be at work at 3:30 on Sunday morning, so I wont be out late, so a fancy dinner is out for me.

That hour sounds good to me, especially since I'm running a little slow these days. I doubt that I'd be up for a good crawl, for that reason. Maybe dinner in a nice place (St. Dymphna?).

Hey, I was just reminded that Saturday will be the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the opening of the Brooklyn Bridge. Would anyone be open to doing a kilted stroll there either before or after we meet?

I might be talked into that, afterwards, since a guide will be required. But dinner is a particularly capital notion, as I'll be ready to eat post-5ish.

I have suggested St. Dymphna's before.. Someone (Keith?) said that it's a great place but pretty tiny. I haven't been there myself, but have heard good things about it for years, so would be happy to try it.

Would people be interested? If it's small, reservations might be wise, if they even take them.

What with fireworks at 8:45 PM and all manner of hoopla planned, I don't really want to be near it Saturday. Besides, it's a long walk from 1st Ave/8th St. to the bridge, not that one could get close to it with all the crowds!

St. Dymphna's is very small, but I believe they take reservations and they have a garden. I hear the Beef and Guinness Stew is great! And...happy hour is from 4-7. If we meet from 4-5, there shouldn't be a problem.

And this shall be for music, when no one else is near; The fine song for singing, the rare song to hear; That only I remember, that only you admire; Of the broad road that stretches and the roadside fire. (RL Stevenson)

Oh, there will be fireworks! I would like to see those, if possible, but you are probably right about the crowds. I remember the centennial, where a brand new style of fireworks was designed just for the occasion. Unfortunately I had to miss going to that one due to illness in the family.

So shall we meet at D.B.A. and then go straight to St. Dymphna's, or vice versa? I think that the restaurant is more convenient for a meeting point, if not AS one.
