Well, Cedar Rapids went under. The Cedar river crested at 32 feet, and the previous record was something like 21. All of the downtown area was submerged, and many, many residences. It will be a long time before life returns to anything resembling normal.

Downtown Des Moines was mostly spared, but a residential neighborhood of more than 400 homes went under after a levy failed.

There is a LOT of water headed downstream in the Mississippi. This is not over, I am afraid.
